Welcome to the Center for Online Learning (COL).

Our services to students, faculty, and staff support student achievement in technology-mediated learning environments. The Center supports faculty by providing instructional design services, academic technology guidance, and professional development opportunities. We collaborate with instructors to create engaging, and effective learning experiences across all course formats.

The university has two ticketing systems, COL Services and IT Helpdesk, and each is used for different services. Below are some of the most common ticket requests for each system:

Center for Online Learning (COL)

Use COL Services to get help with:

  • Canvas course design, setup, and transfers
  • Troubleshooting Canvas tools (quizzes, gradebook, assignments, rubrics, SpeedGrader)
  • Managing course publishing
  • Integrating third-party tools/LTIs (e.g., Turnitin, Zoom, VidGrid, textbook platforms)
  • Embedding and managing multimedia
  • Accessibility support for digital course content
  • Course design consultations and online teaching guidance
  • Recording lectures/studio A&B

 

Submit a Support Ticket

Information Technology (IT) Helpdesk

Use the IT Helpdesk to get help with:

  • Login/access issues with university systems (e.g., email, Sunbird Central portal, library databases, Canvas, etc.)
  • Password reset or account lockout (email, myfpu portal, etc.)
  • Requesting ‘licensed’ Zoom account (plus 45-minute sessions – instructors only)
  • Audio/visual Classroom support/setup
  • Multi-factor authentication (MFA) setup
  • Connectivity issues related to university Wi-Fi
  • Computer hardware and software (for university-issued computers)
