Studio Spaces
Studio recording allows for high-quality video production with professional audio and lighting. The types of multimedia that can be created in the studio include:
- Welcome videos – introduce students to you and the course
- Lectures – use voice, facial expression, gestures, and eye contact to connect with students
- Slideshow videos – use graphics and outlines to illuminate lecture topics
- Whiteboard videos – draw to help students visualize difficult concepts
- Guest interviews or dialogs – expose students to multiple perspectives
Below are some examples of common faculty projects produced in the studio

Green Room Studio

Lightboard Studio
Green Screen Studio
The Green Screen Studio consists of a green screen video recording area, featuring professional-grade lighting, dedicated studio cameras, a teleprompter, and professional audio. The green screen technology allows for replacing the green background with graphic backgrounds, still photographs, motion video, or you can even embed yourself in slide presentations using PowerPoint. The studio is ideal for filming high-quality course introductions, lectures, lessons, or similar videos.
How to use the Green Screen Studio

Prepare any materials (script, ppt, etc.) you plan to use in the studio.

Submit Material
Submit any materials (ppt, script, etc.) you plan to use during the studio recording to [email protected] at least 48 hours prior to your scheduled recording time so the multimedia production team can have it ready for you to record
Recording Day
Meet a COL staff member for your scheduled time at the studio in JOH building who will give you access to the Green Screen Studio and provide technical recording assistance. We provide hands-on support so that all you need to worry about is your presentation.
COL Edit Team
After the recording, the Creative Team will edit the video, then transfer the completed video to VidGrid and publish in the Moodle course, typically within 1 week of the recording, if no additional video enhancements or graphics are required. More complex productions need more lead-time to complete, and can range from 2 to 4 weeks depending on the project.
Faculty who would like to reserve the Video Recording Studio can visit our booking calendar to schedule a recording date and time.
Light Boards Studio
We have added a lightboard studio that allows faculty to be recorded on video while writing on a glass screen. Whether you need to create lectures or demonstrations of concepts, the lightboard studio should meet your needs.
